Get Free Dining at Walt Disney World this Fall!

It’s finally here – FREE Dining at Walt Disney World! The Free dining deal is valid for many travel dates August 21 through December 23. But as usual, there are some blackout dates including the entire month of October, and a few weeks surrounding the holidays in November and December. All the details of the promotion, as well as travel dates, are on the flier below.

Disney makes some changes this year

Disney made one big change to the free dining offer this year. Guests staying at moderate resorts will now receive a free Quick Service Dining plan instead of the Disney Dining Plan that includes table service credits. But that change doesn’t necessarily mean it’s less of a value. You’ll just want to want to weigh all your options first. Think about upgrading or downgrading to a different resort category, or accepting a free Quick Service dining plan and upgrading to a Disney Dining plan for an additional cost.

Free dining isn’t the only deal this fall, Disney is also giving you a chance to save up to 25% off the cost of your room stay. Not sure which offer is the best deal? To help you decide, we used the average family of four as an example. After pricing the vacation several ways, we came up with a few scenarios where the room discount might be a better deal. But overall, Free Dining seems to be the winner. Before you decide, we encourage you consider both offers first. No matter what offer you choose, given the fact that most of the dates that fall within the promotional period are low to moderate rates anyway, taking a Disney vacation this fall can save you a bundle over stays in peak season. Not to mention the crowds are generally more tolerable at that time too.
