What’s the difference between a resort reservation and a Magic Your Way vacation package?

If you’re new to Walt Disney World and have never planned a vacation there or visited, you may be surprised to learn that unlike most vacation resort packages, Disney offers a lot more choices. Not only can you choose from over 30 on-site resort hotels but you can add on options like tickets, dining plans, air and insurance; and can manage other features like reservations and fast pass selections easily via an online porthole. All these choices might sound overwhelming at first but rest assured a Disney vacation is something to look forward to, and not a source of anxiety. The ability to customize your vacation is what makes Disney such a great vacation destination for families. Disney gives you options – lots of options, and that gives you the flexibility to plan a trip that meets all your needs. Disney’s unique “pick and choose” system is called Magic Your Way and it’s the best way to get the most for your money on your next trip to Disney. Here’s a checklist of options:

1. Accommodations

When you choose a Walt Disney World Magic Your Way vacation package, you can select from any on-site Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. • Discover Unique Accommodations like Disney Themed Story Rooms where you can act like a pirate, live like royalty or feel like a character in a beloved Disney animated film. Family Suites where you can immerse yourself in magical accommodations for parties up to 6, with the right amount of space for everyone in the family. Suites include 3 sleeping areas, 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette. Rooms for 5 or More where you can relax in expansive accommodations for groups of 5 or more, with enough room for everyone. 2. Tickets

A Magic Your Way Base Ticket with choice of ticket length from 2 to 10 days (one Theme Park admission per day). Add-on options for this ticket include:

Park Hopper Option – Come and go as you please through all four Walt Disney World Theme Parks (Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park) on the same day for each day of your ticket.
Water Park Fun & More Option – includes a certain number of visits, based on the length of the ticket, to your choice of: Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park, Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course (with reserved tee time), ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course (before 4:00 p.m.) or Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course (before 4:00 p.m.).
